What’s New for the 2023 Awards?
This year’s Awards will focus on celebrating the independent music community, featuring more exclusive and intimate live performances throughout the ceremony.
Further to this, the 2023 Awards also boast a newly streamlined list of categories. Returning categories include the Diversity Champion award, previously won by British multi-platinum artist Stormzy. Additionally, the 2022 newly-established awards for Music Entrepreneur Of The Year and Best Independent EP / Mixtape also make a comeback. Submissions have now closed.
Who’s Nominated?
The 2023 edition boasts a hugely exciting array of nominees. R&B-led pop singer RAYE and experimental dance act Shygirl lead the pack with three nods each, while further multiple nominees include British jazz quintet Ezra Collective, London-based Nigerian songwriter Obongjayar, futuristic genre-defier Kelela, and experimental newcomer Jessica Winter, each landing two nominations.
