TWO MORE AIM AWARDS CATEGORIES OPEN TO FREE SUBMISSIONS FOR ALL

BEST INDEPENDENT REMIX AND BEST SMALL LABEL NOW FREE FOR ALL TO SUBMIT

AIM is pleased to announce that anyone can now submit for the two categories ‘Best Small Label’ and ‘Best Independent Remix’ completely for free. They join the ‘One to Watch’ category which recognises grassroots talent and was already free for non-members to submit to.

There is no doubt that many of AIM’s Members and the wider independent community are currently experiencing a very difficult time, with survival at the top of the agenda.

With this in mind, AIM took the decision to make all submissions free for its members to the awards this year. By extending free submissions for Best Small Label and Best Independent Remix to the whole industry, AIM hopes to make these categories accessible to all, particularly small and micro-labels with limited cashflow.

The AIM Independent Music Awards 2020 marks the tenth anniversary of the ceremony, which champions industry-leading creativity, innovation, and performance shown by independent artists, labels and outstanding individuals.

Submissions can be made via aimawards.co.uk before the deadline of 4 May. To be eligible, submissions must be released between 29th June 2019 and 4th May 2020.

Best Independent Remix is a new category, introduced to the awards this year in recognition of AIM’s dance and electronic members, although submissions are not limited to these genres – any independent remixes are accepted!

Best Small Label recognises music businesses who prove that you don’t have to be big to be smart! The business must have no more than three full time members of label staff worldwide or an annual turnover of less than £250,000. The final nominees and winners of this award will be decided by the AIM Board.

One to Watch, a category introduced in 2019 that recognises grassroots and emerging independent UK artists hotly tipped for success, is also free for non-members to submit to.
